How do save a clip of footage from your recordings. I have a old Amcrest 650 TVL.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum.

So if your talking about saving footage from the DVR then it should be just like it is with todays systems.. From within the playback there could be a Scissors in the bottom right, You click that at the start of the area you want to back up and once you have the whole area you click it again and then you press the little diskette looking icon to save to your Flash drive.

YOu can also do this from the WebUI of the DVR. However you will want to make sure to jot down where the record file and what not will be saved to on your local computer. This only after you do as said above for backup under normal use the system records to the DVR internal HDD..

Then last if your asking about how to save footage from a Camera that you have connected Direct to a TV without the use of a DVR then there is no way I know of outside of a VHS recorder or a DVR. However I am going to guess that you might be asking about from the DVR as I think the Amcrest cameras have a TV block that requires them to be connected to an Amcrest DVR for them to work. If you happen to have a Amcrest camera that does work Direct to a TV then yes it would need a DVR or a VCR to record the footage.
Be Safe.
