I am still a newbie,
I just added my 9th camera to my NV4116E-HS,
And when I did, or the screen it read, Exceeding bitestream.
Can someone give me some simple instructions how to adjust settings on the camera's.
8 of the camera's are Flir, n233be and 1 amcrest IP8M-2496EB
Please make it as simple as possible, When I say new, I know very little. Thanks. Videos and pictures appreciated.
Exceeding bitestream
Re: Exceeding bitestream
Yes there is no true easy answer to this other then its it in the math and recorder...
So I didn't look up the data of the Recorder your using or the Cameras... What the issue is there is a Max data stream for your NVR.. .Once this data stream is passed up by how you set your Cameras Encoding with FPS and such it takes these numbers out of total allowed...
So 8 cameras say running at 30fps and say that is almost at max the system can do even though it is a 16 ch (Not saying it is just using as fast and easy info) when you add another it would then be over the ability of the NVR...
So maybe the system is able to do 60fps and your cameras are too, Then you set it at that however most big systems run at 7 to 14FPS with the 60 set in the 8 would be high understand what I am trying to say...
So for me I would go in a change a few of the cameras that don't get much traffic to a lower FPS and see if that helps with adding your new Camera...

Re: Exceeding bitestream
Thank you, I am sorry, but can you explain how to go about doing that. Like I said, I know nothing about this.
May a step by step where to go.

Re: Exceeding bitestream
I found this in a manual.
Perhaps someone can tell me witch settings I need to change on each camera to get the bitestream down. This is just a sample in the manual.

Re: Exceeding bitestream
Sadly it is hard to say what the problem is without seeing things... However you can look at the Amcrest Web site and see what the Limits are.. While it doesn't look like there are many when it comes to Recording.. You might have a problem with the Playback if your trying to View them all at the same time... On the site you can see what the limits are on Recording and Playback...
https://amcrest.com/amcrest-nv4116e-16c ... luded.html
Then for how to get to your area of encoding...
bring up the menu, then Settings, camera Video/Audio is where you can find the settings...
Please note this isn't 100% of what the Problem is. I would say if you have a Thumb Drive I would save your settings you have now before you make changes incase you want to go back as it is now... To get there you would bring up menu, settings, system, Configuration Backup..
Provided 2 pictures of what the menus in question would look like...

Re: Exceeding bitestream
Sadly I am not sure. I would maybe contact Amcrest over Email or maybe even call them and see if they could assist you with this. I am going to guess that you might be able to trim down the Quality if say you have them all set to 6(best) I am not sure what you are running your cameras at. But seems like a 16ch NVR should be able to run more then 8 cameras. However looking at the Pictures I provided. THey have them set at 7fps so I don't know where yours are set...
Be Safe.
Re: Exceeding bitestream
Your NVR has a record rate of 80Mbps. See
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mci1X ... HFfUaW3bJR
Don't know why it currently says it's 90. Maybe 80 is a conservative number.
One simple thing to change is 4K camera setting H.264 compression to H.265 to reduce bit rate, and see what happens. Doubt you can do that on FLIR.
If that doesn't do it, you will need to explore other 4K cam and FLIR cam settings to further reduce bit rate, and retain video streams that are acceptable.
