I have an AMDV10814-S4 DVR. The only way I can do playback is with View Pro (klunky on phone) or login with Internet Explorer and also flaky. Tried to install Amcrest Surveillance Pro but install starts and then just hangs.
So bought Blue Iris and trying to figure out where in Blue Iris settings to connect to the DVR via RTSP. I see where you can connect directly to IP cameras, but that wont work with my old school cameras.
Any ideas or screen shots greatly greatly appreciated.

Never mind, I basically clicked on the + sign, put in DVR for name and on the next screen hit "Find/Inspect" and it found the DVR and I was able to add it.

Let me clarify. I can see live feeds, but struggling to be able to do playback of recordings. Does anyone know what type of model to select inside of Blue Iris for the DVR, as Blue Iris has 9 or 10 models to pick from on the video device, but they look like different types of IP cameras to me

I believe you will find that BI does not access DVR recordings. BI is meant to receive a video stream and record it typically based on BI generated motion detect events. BI can also record the video stream full time.
To playback recordings on the DVR with PC, I suggest you find out why Amcrest Surveillance Pro(ASP) does not install.
What ASP version are you trying to install? Where did you download it from?
What are the specific symptoms of the ASP install failure?
