Can't find NVR on the network, and, SMTP issues

Post by stock »

I have the 3MP NVR POE system I purchased some 6 months ago, but installing it now. After basic installation, I can see the camera on the monitor that I connect to the NVR. All good till this point.

Problem-1:
I then connect the NVR to the router. I can see the NVR connected to my router inside the router GUI, with the ip 192.168.1.175. I installed the ip config software on a computer on same network, but do not see the NVR device in it. I also tried assigning a port inside the NVR gui and and when i go to the link 192.168.1.175:<PORT>, it asks me to download the exe and install. I install the exe, but there is no change. I get the same page after installation. What am I doing wrong? I just cannot get this to work inside the home network so i can view cameras from another home computer on the same network.

Problem-2:
Send email button is not working. I am assuming once i am able to connect and see the NVR on the network this issue will be resolved too.

Can this be a defective item, I am also starting to wonder?
Thanks

First, assign the NVR a static IP outside the DHCP range. There are different ports to pay attention to: TCP, UDP, and HTTP. Leave the TCP and UDP ports alone. I think they are set to 37777 and 37778. Set your HTTP port to something like 1500. Next, in your router you have to set up Port Forwarding for these ports to direct to the IP of your NVR. When you are trying to reach the NVR via a browser, you need to use the HTTP port. Lastly, the add in for the browsers suck. You need to use IE 11 or something like that. I suspect your SMTP issues are either related to conectivity or you haven't entered your correct info for the outgoing server.

Hello Stock,

I think you have the QCam NVR system. Make sure you use IE or you can also try the below program on your PC.
