Automatically change to camera with motion detect?

We will soon have 16 cameras setup on the 16 camera DVR (NV2116-HS.) Right now it's at 11 cameras and increasing daily. Running wires is taking a lot longer than anticipated (such fun belly crawling with 24" of clearance under a lower deck! After a week of rain.) Having plenty of fun doing this project - using a drone photo pf the property to figure out placement, elevation and angles. I'm at the point where I'm setting motion detect zones. I'm not going to need all 16 camera feeds up on the monitor at one time. I'm using the 8 camera layout with one large image and seven small ones.

What I want to happen is that when motion is detected on any camera, that video feet fills the larger video space. For example, last year someone snuck under our deck and broke in via a basement window. So I now have a camera under the deck covering the windows. No need to see it on the monitor 24/7 - but if there's a person or critter down there, I want to to automatically take the larger video spot. Same for the area behind the shed - someone climbed the fence a couple of years ago and broke in the back of the shed. So I have a camera in the shed. I only need to see that feed if motion is detected.

This sounds like it should be a basic function of any system, but the lack of instructions is a big hinderance. For example, on the alarm page there's only 10 channels - is that 10 cameras? Why not 16? What is Snapshot 1 3 5 - the number of photos per second? Why is there a tour option - again with just 10 buttons, not 16. The entire interface looks and feels like it was designed by an engineer who knows the system, but who had little idea what the end used needed to see. Heck, the word "alarm" is not even in the "Quick Start Guide" index - and that's the only manual that came with the system.

If it's done with the "tour" option on the alarm, I'd need 16 different tours - one per camera, right? Or am I in the totally wrong space and alarm is not triggered by motion detection?

I downloaded the complete manual - but it does not match what I'm seeing on the screen, so I'm guessing it's from a firmware that's much older than my NV2116-HS has.

Well sadly this is a feature that says it should be using the Tour item inside the Motion Screen.. It has been long time since I have tried to use it on an Amcrest Recorder because it has never worked for me...

Later today I will have to Check out my Recorders and see if it does in fact work as expected right now I am about to run out the door but wanted to give some info about where it should be if it was to work..

For the New FW On NVR GUI, Right click, then click Main Menu, Then top center (Alarm) then Video Detection. THen change to the Camera you want, Enable setting for Motion if off. Then down below is Tour this is Above Buzzer and below PTZ Activation.. Click on Tour to toggle it then Press setting It will pop up a Box that will have 1-XX for however many cameras you have active.. If you have motion on 3 you can have 3 go large or say you want 4 to go large because you have 3 as a Pre alert to the camera coming in View... Then it Pops up full screen what ever channel you click there...

Sadly I have yet to get it to work on a Amcrest Device.. I will have to Revisit it when I return home in a Few Hours and see if it works on any of my Amcrest Devices...

It's working for me but the sensitivity and threshold make no sense. I have sensitivity on 0 and threshold at 100 and a leaf is triggering it. So I tried no zones defined and motion detect on - same thing. Then I tried making the entire FOV 0 sensitivity and 100 threshold and the door sensitivity of 45 and threshold of 80. A branch blowing in the yellow is triggering it.

Well why does things seem to work for everyone but me lol...

I have had it setup on my NVR since I wrote that.. I come back and my NVR still on 9Ch Split.. I setup on my Dahua 8ch DVR with 2 IP ch and I had it set up for 2 of the Ch on there and when I came back like I was saying the 2116-HS is still in 9ch mode,, I look at a Camera I have Recording my Screen and it has not left this mode since I left.. However the Dahua recorder has trigged and displayed my Amcrest IP camera that I have connected to it...

Now only thing I didn't do is adjust settings past just making them so they were set on.. I did the same on the Dahua DVR.. Meaning I checked the box and set the camera on both machines no adjustments to Sensitivity as it picks up motion already so I left it at that... Sadly nothing for Amcrest So just while typing this I had 3 cars go by 3 motion triggers on Ch2 on my 2116-hs and no screen pop up

So I was looking over my 2116-HS and I got to wondering is it not pop up the window because I have my Normal Tour Lock? So I went and Removed that even so I don't have the little Lock at the top for my cameras to tour when I wanted them too.. When I don't I just lock it and set to Split 9 however even after Removing that I still don't get a Screen on motion like I do with my other machines outside of Amcrest.. That was only thing I had different besides FW, Software and hardware between my Dahua and the 2116-hs but that didn't make it work either lol.. Even Rebooted the NVR to make sure it wasn't just a delay from setup change...



EDIT... Yeah that was the Issue and I guess that is the issue with all my systems LOL ahahahah I did another reboot after doing a Shutdown for the fun of it and after doing a Start up it is now popping in the screen as it should YAY Well Thanks for telling me that your worked as I would have just left it go that mine didn't work and wouldn't, now I know why.. I had mine setup to Screen tour on the main Tour area never turn it off I just lock it and unlock it when I want ti to cycle the screens... But yeah it worked well...
