Aspect ratio and web interface

Post by kanewolf »

I have a IP8M-T2499E camera which I have rotated 90 degrees to get the greater pixels in the up/down direction. I have an NV4216-EI and when displaying "Live" on HDMI the aspect ratio is correct. The "preserve aspect ratio" is checked for that camera. When accessing the NV4216 via the IP address, that camera's aspect ratio is NOT correct but the preserve aspect ratio shows checked for that camera. Is this a known problem ?

My guess would be that you are using Edge normal or Chrome and the browser don't offer the info needed to display it correctly.. While my 8mp Turret camera don't have the ability to run full 8mp using 90 or 270 degree modes I can't test to confirm the issue. Just remembering that when I look at my cameras in Edge normal or Chrome there are some display features that are missing..

So I would double check what it would look like with Edge using IE tab. If you have never used IE tab in Edge you will want to bring up Edge, then on the top right click on the 3 dots, then scroll down to settings, then click on Default Browser tab, It is ok you are not setting it as a default that is just where you need to go to setup the IE tab mode. Under the area where you can click to make it default is an area where you can add in pages to work in IE mode. Click the add, then enter in the URL to your IP camera and save.. Then when you bring up that cameras IP address in Edge over the next 30 days it will open in IE mode.
Be Safe.

Browser is Mozilla. I tested with Edge, aspect ratio still wrong. Directly accessing the camera is Mozilla is just fine. Direct display of the camera via HDMI from the recorder is just fine (once I found the preserve aspect option). It is ONLY accessing the NVR via the web that there is an issue.

I had to lower the res some to get the 90 rotation. But this is over my front door on a narrow porch. I can get from the street to the door with the 90 rotation.
