So anyone that looks over the forum using the 5108-E1 DVR aka XVR? If you are have you used the Sub channel?
I ask because it seems that it is setup on a Tour more then just doing a POP up of the programmed event channel.
Here is what I mean. On my 5232E-16P NVR, I have it setup to monitor the last 8chs on D-Sub at 1080P, When an events happens that 8ch will turn to pure event channel for full screen view of the event, then go back to the 8ch setup again..
In the 5108-E1 I have ch1 setup with an intrusion rule and have it setup to go to Sub Channel, Every time it does it goes from single channel, to multi channel, 4, 8 and so on.. That isn't how the Sub Channel has ever worked on any of my other DVR/NVRs with the feature of 2 different views. Most of the others are shared HDMI/VGA setup so what you see on 1 you see on the other without having the ability to make changes to the sub channel..
If that was how it was working and not working that way anymore I would love to know what you changed so it only brings up the event channel as 1 full screen channel and not a whole tour, If I wanted a tour i would have setup a tour lol...
Thanks..

Re: 5108-E1 DVR and the like
If you own this DVR please read it all... Important info
So wanted to point out that I seem to have fixed the issue with the DVR by going to the area of the tour for the DVR in the Sub Screen, and disabling all other tour parts like 2-8 in the single view, all the view in 4 grid, all in the 8 grid and the 1 9grid view.. After doing this the DVR now only shows the 1 Sub Channel on an event.. What is strange about this, I am not setting up a Tour I am doing a Pop Up in the Sub Channel when an event happens so I don't understand why it don't work like it does for my 5232E-16p NVR and a few others that I own with the HDMI and D-Sub being 2 different outputs for different functions.. Where as I said before other DVR/NVRs that don't offer that options share the HDNI/D-Sub outputs and only show the same over both. Even though they can be setup for different resolutions..
Just wanted to point that out to others that might have come here and seen that there is the function, Also wanted to point out a few other things that I feel is important for end users with the DVR.. First most important don't give anyone admin rights to your DVR. Don't enable Zero Channel.. By taking these 2 steps you will ensure you keep control of your DVR and there is no accidents to missing recordings.. Case in point. If you log into your DVR using the WebUI or give another user Admin access at the top of the screen where you click to log out there is also Reboot and Shutdown. Reboot is good options Shutdown is bad option in a DVR/NVR. Why because some of them if you shut down even on accident the DVR/NVR no longer records and the recorder is still able to be accessed VIA remote.. Only place you will know the device is offline is at the MONITOR.. Meaning if you click on shut down the DVR goes offline at the DVR level but the machine still runs. This means that you will be able to access the DVR/NVR over your WebUI or even the Amcres View Pro app.. Seeing this DVR is AI and other devices that I have pointed this flaw about have been AI and Non-AI, if you log in with say an AI recorder and have your system setup to record only real AI events then you could do a search and find no events and think that there hasn't been anything to record.. The fact is the DVR/NVR is no longer recording because at the GUI it is offline.. So on a NON-AI recorder with this issue where the machine when you turn off at GU, or WebUI keeps the machine on but has a message to power it off.. Your system is OFFLINE..
What does that mean, Well look at like this, Lets say that your daughter or son you have asked to look over your property while you are away. Give them Admin rights to a user you setup, Leave a laptop or desktop they can access in your living or dining room, They come by on Friday after work, Log in and accidently picks Shut Down when they mean to logout.. Even though both options were there. Could have been in hurry and just picked the wrong one by accident.. Everything was good and they walk away.. On Monday you return home and find that your Garage was broke into and your Dodge Demon was stolen. You go and find that your Recorder is still there and think ok lets see, You are in hurry and go to the same laptop or desktop she was accessing and log in and you are able to log in to your admin account and the last day any event happened was when your daughter came on Friday.. Now you have no clue what happen to your over 100k car.. In my case I would have backup recorders so no issue for me lol but for someone with just 1 if you don't have a Micro SD card in the cameras *Seeing this is a DVR and Analog cameras don't have MicroSD card* covering your car or your Garage, you have no clue where to start... Only the DVR/NVR shows that the device is waiting to be powered down.. Even if you have your system setup to reboot nightly because it is offline that function will not take place.. Keep in mind there is 1 Major issues with the 5108-E1 that other devices I have tested don't have not only will it not reboot every night like I have it setup at 12am.. You can't reboot the device remotely once you shut it down without removing Power to the DVR... All others that I have found this flaw in that I own. I can at least reboot remotely to get the recording to start again...

Re: 5108-E1 DVR and the like
Just wanted to mention that my DVR is still running the 2022 firmware. There are two newer versions from 2023 that might have addressed the issues I've pointed out. I'd love to hear from anyone using the newer firmware to confirm whether these issues have been resolved or if they’re still present. Before I test any new firmware, I'll make sure to get a back up the current version so I can revert if necessary. In the past, I lost some features on my 7108-AI after an update, and I want to avoid a situation where I gain something new but lose something valuable, like the ability to see IVS events instead of just showing them as "unknown" event types, which happened with a previous update
