WIFI access only

Post by Saremacym »

I updated the software on my IP2M841W a few weeks back. It had stopped sending e-mail alerts. That problem is now OK. Now, I am unable to access the camera on my phone (Android) unless I am at home using my personal WIFI. I can access it on my computers which are of course connected to my internet router. Is there a setting I can check or change?
I might add that I also have two older cameras IP2M 842's that work fine using the same mobile app.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum, I mean I see you joined 2 years ago but your first post Welcome..

So that sounds like the camera was setup on the App using IP method. You will want to log in to the camera from your computers WebUI to the camera, Then click on Setup, Tcp/Ip and then P2P.

Then Remove the camera from your app on your phone, Then click the + to add it back, Then click wifi type, then click on top tabs on right where it says Already Connected, then click on P2P Setup, then scan the QR code on the computer screen, if you have an issue scanning the QR code depending on lighting and type of monitor/screen your using you can click the button below QR reader that says Enter SN Manually and finish the setup. Once you are done and able to connect with camera at home when you leave your home you will still have access as long as your phone and camera are both connected to a Internet connection...
Be Safe.

It took three tries--remove from the app and reinstalling until it finally worked. I think it may be because the app password is different from the camera password and It took me that many times to realize it.
Thanks!
