What difference - build date 2019-12-18 vs 2019 -09-19???

Post by quattleb »

At https://amcrest.com/firmwaredownloads I see two build dates for the same firmware for the IP4M-1051 cameras.

What is the difference if any?

A change log would be helpful to have with these downloads...

thank you

I am not sure there is a Change log.. I was under the impression that the update in 12-19 covers fixing some issues tha t was with Presets I guess... I have updated my Cameras all to the 2019 FW... The good news and this is only from what I have done... I was able to down grade one of my Cameras from the 12-19 back to the 8-19 FW while it is said don't go outside of them... Meaning don't go back to the ones form 2017 or 18 if yours had newer then my last one in 2017...

So I updated a 2015 camera to the NEW FW for testing and found some interesting things... Then Updated the 12-19 on that camera keeping my 2018 camera on the 8-19 FW with not such good results (On the New 2018)... However I did update the New one aka 2018 camera to the 12-19 FW because I seen the 2015 camera working so well... So one mistake I made was I didn't Reset the camera after FW update and didn't know between the 2019 ones that I had to. Anyway in the 8 and 12 of 19 camera before and even after *Reset* and weekly reboots I have issues with the camera loading on Reboot in Odd places... Last 2 reboots has been Preset 2 however they are not the same as they were before reboot.. So to be honest without knowing if your camera works right under 8-19 or 12-19 the good news if 12 is no better and or even worse then 8-19 you can go back to the 8-19... For me I just keep Preset 3 out of my Presets and I am ok for the most part...
Be Safe.
