Use local storage to save files

Post by jens »

I am struggle to get motion detection to work properly on a Amcrest camera.

I have this configuration:
* IP4M-1053E with 2.422.AC02.0.R.R4.1219.9A.NR, Build Date: 2018-07-06
* Raspberry pi 4 4G ram with USB 3.0 harddrive
* Openmediavault running on Raspberry with FTP and SMB/CIFS services activated
* Camera running local with tcp/ip, p2p not activated

I don´t like to use p2p and cloud storage because i have limited internet bandwidth behind a 4G modem. So i have configured Amcrest app to directly stream from the camera and firewall is opened and routed correctly. The idea is to configure the camera to upload the video directly to the NAS (installed on a Raspberry Pi) when a motion is detected by camera.

I couldn´t make the NAS functionality under Amcrest (Storage->Destination) to work. So I therefore start configure the FTP functionality. After some testing the camera start make folders and save files (*.mp4_) on the FTP. But these videos seems to just be 1 second and around 300-400 KB each. Have someone same setup like me with a local NAS to catch video with FTP or SMB?

Best regards
Jens
