I setup a single IPM-743E with its own 10/100 poe switch. It worked fine and the video looked fine in Blue Iris the first day. I woke up this morning and suddenly the video is completely distorted. Quality and contrast are way off like the video is being overly compressed. I tried changing settings to h.264 and decreasing iframe to lowest value and increasing bitrate to highest level which did improve it slightly but it's still completely useless. I went back to the defaults of mjpeg and it's the same. If I go to the snapshot url (http://192.168.xxx.xxx/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?1) the picture looks perfect. If I go to the video url (http://192.168.x.xxx/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi) it's horrendous.
I've attached a screenshot of what it looks like in Blue Iris and the live feed.
Unusable video on Amcrest IPM-743E
Re: Unusable video on Amcrest IPM-743E
Hello badcrc ,
Is the issue with Blue Iris only? I see the MJPEG stream is also poor but what if you log in to the cameras web interface?
Have you defaulted all the video settings?

Re: Unusable video on Amcrest IPM-743E
I played with all settings, reset the settings and the camera, updated the firmware (it was the same version but thought it might do something). I tried different bitrates, framerates, compressions. It happened in Blue Iris local, remote, and Amcrest's phone app, but I found out it only happened in HD mode, not SD. I bought two of these cameras so I swapped the broken one out with the second one and it is fine. I took the broken one and connected it to a 3ft cat5 cable to the poe switch (instead of the 60+ ft cable it was on originally, which the second one works fine on) and it does the same thing in HD mode, but not SD. I returned it to Amazon. Looks like it was just defective, but it did work fine for the first day.Melvin wrote:Hello badcrc ,

Hello badcrc,
Ok I think the unit is defective too.
