Terminating CAT6 RJ-45 cable connectors for POE cameras

Post by [email protected] »

I'm using CAT6 RJ-45 8P8C connectors for POE cameras. Are these the correct connectors to use on POE cameras, and what is the sequence for the CAT6 color coded wiring for terminating the CAT6 RJ-45 cable connectors for POE cameras?

RJ-45 is correct. You don’t need cat6, but you can use it. Cat5/cat5e is sufficient. As for color code, you can use either T-568A or T-568B. Just make sure you use the same at both ends. If there is existing wiring, it’s best to match what’s there.

I hope this helps.
