Survelliance pro app, PC-NVR and snapshots

Post by xCry0x »

I have had my camera for a while and am just now trying to get this all set up to save recordings/snapshots locally.

I downloaded the surveillance pro application, set up a 100GB PC-NVR space on a local system and now I am completely confused.

1) The PC-NVR seems to have set up some sort of virtual disk file in the directory - great. How do I access anything that is supposed to save there?

2) Within amcrest surveillance pro, I went to the general settings -> file and saw that snapshots and recordings are set to go to the application's install directory. I changed that to be a directory in the folder where PC-NVR was configured to -- now I get recordings writing out there but no snapshots seem to trigger.

3) Why won't snapshots trigger? I set it up to motion detect video/snapshots everywhere I could possibly find the option. I can trigger manual snapshots in surveillance pro, but it won't motion detect trigger them.

4) All I want to do is have snapshots and video sent to a storage partition on my PC. On the same network as the camera... I feel like I am missing something obvious because this seems incredibly overly difficult for what should be a incredibly simple process.

Thanks

Hm - I actually think the only reason it is recording video is because I also set up an alarm specifically to capture video.

I deleted the alarm now and will see what happens. The video recordings always were in parallel with an alarm notification popping up on my pc.

My device itself is configured with motion detect via the surv pro app as well as through the basic ip config web setup.

Hello xCry0x,

1) The files saved in PC NVR can be only accessed through the play back option of the software. If you want to clear the space, you need to go to PC NVR and free the allocated space from the drive.

2) The path under general settings is for manual recording. The scheduled and motion detection recording of the PC NVR is not recorded there.

3) It appears the program only supports manual snapshots but I will need to cross check that option.

4) Sorry about the trouble you are facing. recordings should just work fine with the PC NVR. For snapshots, you need to check if snapshot is enabled under the motion detection option in Surveillance Pro.

Thanks for the quick response.

Re: #1 and #2 - that is why I am so confused. It appears to be configured.

The schedule is set for every day 24/7 for motion detect (yellow) and alarm (red)

The camera device itself is configured for motion detect.

However -- nothing shows up in playback:

I had mailman come by, UPS drop off a package and I walked outside and waved at the thing multiple times. Nothing got captured.
