I'm running into a problem with the software for PC.
I currently have a customer running 14 camera's and recording real time video from midnight to 3am, then motion till 9am, then real time again from 9am to midnight on a daily basis for all camera's. The problem i'm running into is that it's not holding any more than a half day's recordings! This isn't going to work for me. This needs to be able to hold a 30 day's minimum of recordings. This location is at a extremely busy bar. How can we expect this system to record if it won't hold more than half a day's recordings? The maximum recording is only 200 gb worth of space. I have the NVR set to overwrite data when full. Meaning it won't even hold anything. If i set it to stop recording, it won't record. This is a terrible way to record video for business customers. This needs to be resolved asap.

Unfortunately the PC NVR software can only allocate maximum of 200 GB on PC. If you are running 14 cameras, you could try using a hardware NVR which can hold up to 4TB HDD. You cal also use third party software like Blue iris.

This answer really doesn't help or solve my issue. So your saying that your software basically can't handle the camera's full potential that amcrest sells? We buy these camera's, and install them, but nowhere does it say you only can record live video feeds for a couple of hours tops? What good is the software if you can't use it like it's supposed to be used?
Sounds like a pointless software package. Don't get me wrong, the camera's are wonderful, but this software is terrible if you can't use it.

I think it's just really bad business to have to do this.

We do agree there are limitations right now. The blue iris is definitely a better software if you want to use your PC as the recording platform. I believe you can dedicate as much space as you want on your PC with that software. What I would suggest is try out the blue iris as they have a free 14 day trial version and you can purchase a license if you like it. I will give their info below.

We dont have any other recommendations for a surveillance software. I know some of our customers use Ispy software but I do not know in detail about its application.

LOL not anytime soon since a removal of the PC NVR size limitation might result in fewer sales of their branded hardware-based NVRs...j/k.

There shouldn't be a limit on it at all! I can't believe this company limits this software. This has to be the worst customer service i have ever encountered in my business. Don't get me wrong, the camera's are great, and the software does it's job properly. The only issue with this is the limitation of how much you can record. It's like saying you want to eat a steak at a steak house, but you gotta park in the next state and walk your ass here cause we don't want you to be a satisfied customer. UN-LIMIT THE FLIPPING SOFTWARE SO US PROFESSIONALS CAN DO OUR JOBS PROPERLY!
