You need a smurf email from gmail to use, with no security activated, Then the server using gmail works, and when send to/from gmail it groups them nicely.
That is setup for gmail, just make a new account without security, use it only for this. Then have it sent to your primary gmail, and you will get groupings of the email, unlike Outlook which lists each individually.

I can't seem to get the motion detection feature to work either??? Does anyone have any input on this?
I am using the cameras in a remote cabin. I do not have internet access. So I wanted to recored all the time but take a snapshot when there is motion. so each weekend when I go I can just review the snapshots. It records and I can review the recording but no snapshots are taken. And it seems to detect all the moths flying around the cameras at night as well.
@mollylily, motion detection is by far the most annoying thing about these cameras, I also get lots of false triggers. Just have to play with the settings, no one at Amcrest even wants to acknowledge or talk about the problem. I have tried in multiple email's and post's to get info on how to get better function on motion detection outdoors, with no acknowledgement or response from the team.
As to your problem regarding snapshots, this is assuming you have the cameras ticked to catch a snapshot in the Event--->Detect area for each camera.
If you want the cameras to save snapshots on motion to the DVR, you have to setup the schedule, annoying thing about this DVR, is it is dependent on Schedules, which seems less than intuitive after you tick the snapshot button for your cameras, but this works for all events, there must be a schedule. In the DVR Storage-->Schedule-->Snapshot Tab-->Click Yellow MD button to activate Motion Detect schedule--Click the ALL tick in the left-->Then just left click draw a line along the times you want this to occur (the whole day if you want 24 coverage)
Hope that helps

OK, I had it set up and working and I must have changed something after adding more cameras and it's not detecting motion again. Can you take a snapshot of what your Events screen looks like? I'm not sure I have that set property. This setup is not at all user friendly. Too many steps that seem repetitive. Also what do you use for the 2 settings (something and Threshold)?
Per definition that I have found on CCTV FAQ'S (this is a new thing to me too, still learning)
Sensitivity=How much motion it takes to trigger, so lower setting will get less trigger from movement
Threshold=Size of object to cause trigger
I have the 1080p HDCVI 8ch system, and have mine setup outdoors, I feel like I have gone through every Threshold/Sensitivity setting over the last 5 weeks, and cannot find a sweet spot. If I want them to detect humans, I have to put up with ALOT of ambient light change triggers, sunrise/sunset is just one constant trigger.
I have found that, and this makes sense, if the camera is close to area you are watching settings are lower and work better, but if the cameras are mounted high, like out-of-reach of vandals, that is where the annoying fun begins of trying to find a sweet spot.
Good luck, but as a rule for Human detection, threshold has had to be under 10, sensitivity...well, really going to have to play with that for each camera position. That has been my experience, get threshold above 12, and no human detection, cuts down on light triggers, but whats the point then?
