Sensitivity and Threshold settings for different times
Sensitivity and Threshold settings for different times
I hope somewhere along the line Amcrest includes a tweak with a software update where you can adjust motion detection sensitivity and threshold settings for different times, as it is now you can set it for different times to go on and off completely but not different times for threshold and sensitivity settings, an example is at night time a lot of bugs makes my motion sensor go off where with them same settings it doesn't during the day, I know you can adjust time settings for motion detection to come on or go off but you can't adjust different sensitivity and threshold settings for different times, during the day I can have my threshold and sensitivity a lot higher than at night, at night I have to turn everything down a little or it picks up all the bugs constantly flying by the cameras, it would be nice if I could set my threshold and sensitivity settings during the day for one number and at night set them for a different and it would switch to a different threshold and sensitivity setting automatically by a time Setting
Re: Sensitivity and Threshold settings for different times
Hello Wildhouse,
Thank you for the suggestion and I will pass this on to our R&D.

Re: Sensitivity and Threshold settings for different times
Same topic, but a slightly different use case.
For me, During the day time, a big area in one of my camera has tree shadows in it. A small breeze will set off motion detect. In order to avoid this, I have to limit the area the camera looks at to avoid false alarms, which limits the number of legitimate alerts as well.
So for me, I would prefer the detect area (and possibility sensitivity) to change based on time of day.
For the original poster, I will mention that the IR lights will attract bugs at night (Not an amcrest specific problem). I added a separate IR illumination several feet away from the camera (and turned off the IR light on the camera). This significantly reduced my number of false alarms on my camera.

Re: Sensitivity and Threshold settings for different times
I agree with both Wildhouse and darctigerman. I have both of their mentioned issues with my IP3M-954 camera.

I have both issues mentioned above with my IP3M-954. A software update addressing this - different settings based on time of day - would be great.
