Safely removing SD Card

Post by ms7330 »

Hi,

i searched the Amcrest support site and couldn't find any answers. How should one safely remove the SD Card from the camera without risking data corruption? We want to download the video data onto the PC from the card, but there are no instructions how to eject the card, only install it and format it.

I am assuming that one would turn off SD Card (disable it) the SD Card/USB storage from the settings page first in the app before physically ejecting it from the camera?

Suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

While I don't know what camera you own and what your trying to remove card rather then logging into the camera and DL from the WebUI. However if there is a Connection issue then Removing and Moving from card to computer would be fastest way for sure. Not something I do personally so don't know where or how the access would be.

My guess is that it would look just like it does in FTP.. IT would have date, JPG, Video; then in there it would be numbered for the hours.

Anyway to remove it one can Remove power if that was an Option or if you want you could log into the camera (If it has the option) via WebUI on the IP of the camera, Click Setup, Then Storage, Then Destination, Then Click SD Card. Then in there under the card info there should be a button that says Eject. Once you do that it is safe to remove the card and will remain offline until the camera reboots. So say you were going to remove it tomorrow at 250pm, and your camera was set to reboot at 3pm if you were not there before the camera reboots the card will come back online after camera is back online.. See Picture Below for what and where

Also thought I would show what it would look like from doing a DL from the camera in truth that is the fastest way. You can do Images if your setup to record them or videos as a batch.
