Hello,
I’ve got a couple of IP video cameras, one Amcrest the other not, which I’d like to stream using a dynamic DNS account I have with Dyn. I’m able to stream from either camera without a problem when I forward port 554 as port 554 through the Frontier (Verizon) provided router that provides the internet to my home. I use the VLC media player to view the rtsp stream. Here are the IP’s of the cameras and the protocols that work (not the real dyn address for this post).
Camera 1
IP on the local network: 192.168.1.112
Local Protocol: rtsp://192.168.1.112:554/?username=admin&password=123456
Internet w/port forwarding: rtsp://xxxa.dyndns.org:554/?username=admin&password=123456
Camera 2
IP on the local network: 192.168.1.113
Local Protocol: rtsp://admin:[email protected]:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
Internet w/port forwarding: rtsp:// admin:[email protected]:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0
As I mentioned, the port forwarding works for either camera, but since I can’t forward both streams to the same port, I can’t stream both to the internet at the same time. I understand there is a way to forward to different ports. I’ve tried having the IP ending in 112 point 554 to 10554 and then use
rtsp://xxxa.dyndns.org:10554/?username=admin&password=123456
but that didn’t work. The router's port forward screen allows me to specify the source port the selected IP and a destination port, which is how I tried my failed attempt of 554 to 10554. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

rtsp video stream port forwarding
Re: rtsp video stream port forwarding
In the Amcrest web setup, you have options to change your port. You'll need to set the port to 10554 in your camera settings for it to work with the new port number. It should be under Setup>Network>Connection>rtsp port
Please note that most people do not recommend that you use port forwarding to access your camera externally as this leaves your system open to other users getting access to your camera and internal network. I initially got port forwarding to work but switched to using a VPN to access my cameras (when not using the Amcrest app).
