Plug-in for Windows 10

Post by Kat »

I have a new Dell Inspiron 3847 (desktop) computer w/Windows 10 OS. I installed the Amcrest software w/no problems. When I started the Amcrest IP Config program it requests a "plug-in". I click on the provided website and then I am confused by what comes up. I don't see anything specifically directing to a "plug-in" to download. :--(

Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you solve it? I have searched the Amcrest support site topics, but I did not see any that addressed this issue.

Many thanx, in advance, for any assistance that may be provided,
Kat ;--)

PS: After trying to add the "plug-in" once again, it worked this time. No idea why it did this time and not the last time, EXCEPT... I prefer Trend Mico security software, which I installed this evening, after deleting McAfee. McAfee may have been blocking the problem, although McAfee never said it was...??? ;--)

Hi! Turns out I still need assistance with the plug-in, again. When I started the Amcrest IP Config. firmware program it requested the plug-in, but when I tried to install the plug-in, the firmware, would not accept it. Any suggestions? I can't control my camera without the added plug-in...????

Thanx,
Kat ;--)

Hi Kat. The plug-in only seems to work (correctly) w/ IE and Safari. You *can* run IE with Windows 10. Open Cortana and type Internet Explorer in the search box. Then you can pin it to the task bar, or start menu. Use that to run the Amcrest config program. Hope that helps.

Hello,

In windows 10 only Microsoft Edge and Chrome does not work, but Internet Explorer and Firefox should work well with the plugins. To open IE, once the camera login page is open in 'Edge', Click on the ... on the top right of the browser and select > Open in Internet Explorer.
