Playback timeline only showing green

Post by rondog »

I just installed a 4 channel 1080p cam system and I am playing around with the software. All 4 channels are set to record all the time which is fine. The problem is the timeline doesn't show me any motion, or yellow in the timeline so it's hard to pin point areas of interest. I've attached what mine looks like between about 3 hours.I live on a somehwat busy street so there has definitely been motion.

I was searching around on the issue and I see some peoples timeline have yellow and even red in it. What have I not properly setup to show me motion?

Hello,
Please ensure that you have enabled Motion detection. Please go to settings > Event > Detect and check the enabled box. You need to select each channel that you want the motion trigger for and then select the record channels. You can also set up the period for motion detection here. Then under storage > Schedule, make sure MD is checked and the schedule is set. Apply and save the settings before closing out. Now it should be all set to record motion detection.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just installed a 720p Tribrid system and I'm having the same issue. I've followed the instructions that are detailed in this thread, as well as the thread located at https://amcrest.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=176 but have the same problem. Motion detection works, as I get push alerts to the app, and the event is logged on the DVR, as is I have set it to do. However no yellow appears on the timeline, only green.

Hello JoeKacz ,

Go to DVR settings Storage > Schedule and ensure that the schedule is set for motion recording. You need to click on the settings icon for each day and enable motion recording there and save settings. You can also copy settings from a day to another and one channel to another.

I have done that. Here is the schedule settings:

Here is the log indicating that motion has, in fact, been detected:

And here is the timeline showing only green:

Hello JoeKacz,

Those settings looks perfect. Please check if under Settings > Event , the option ,'Record channel' is selected for each channel.

If this does not work, You can do a factory reset of the settings from Settings > System > Restore defaults and configure it again.

"Record Channel" was what did it, thank you!

Looking back, I see that was in the original answer as well, but I didn't understand that it was referring specifically to the "record channel" checkbox, but rather just to the channel that was already being recorded. Thank you for clarifying.
