Pixelated Video on Main Stream

Post by EnigmaPrime »

Okay so I have run into an unusual problem.
When I origionally set up my camera the picture quality was fantastic.
But over the past couple of days the Mainstream is pixelated while the substream has much better quality video.
Viewing on a mobile device is also fine. Its just on my laptop or home computer that I see this.

By the way I have not messed with any video settings.

I have the exact same problem with my IPM-721S. It occurred just in the past hour. Happens for both Chrome and IE on my home PC. I rebooted the PC but Mainstream is still pixelated. On my LG34 Android smartphone the image is still excellent and not pixelated.

I've tried re-updating the firmware and rebooting the camera, but no use. Evidently the camera has become defective. It had 2 days of continuous use before the Mainstream video degradation. By now I should know better than to buy anything manufactured in China. I have on order three 720 bullet cameras and an 1104 NVR. I'm going to return everything.

I have the same phone fatmax & your pic is exactly my issue, when I go to work today I am going to factory reset the cam & see if that remedies the problem, I'll repost the outcome either way.

Hello,
Sorry to hear about the issue. The pixelation in mainstream could be because of low network bandwidth. Could you try a hard reset to see if that fixes the issue? You need to press down the indicator light on the back of the camera for 10-15 seconds until the light turns red. You will need to set up the camera from scratch after this.

I tried the resetting the router avenue, but to no avail.
The Hard Reset on the camera did the trick.
I have also snapshot the camera Video & Network settings just to make sure nothing changes again.

I seriously hope having to do a Hard reset is the only to fix this problem. I to had this issue and found that doing a hard reset fixed the issue. That was last week and now today it did it again. Having to do a hard reset and the reconfigure the camera to the way I have it every time this happens is horrible and a waste of time. I really hope I could try to figure this out without doing a hard reset.
