Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
It's too bad we're getting different responses. While I was on the phone and put on hold, the desktop support got back and advised they'd been getting a number of callers with the same issue and he was told they're engineers were aware of the situation and were working on it. He thought everything should be working within two days. I then replied (via email) to the tech support that was also working on my case and advised him of the response from my call. He also said he would contact me when everything was up and running again. Funny, I never heard from him since. I can't believe everything is working fine. Again, according to the negative reviews I had read, it seems to be a recurring problem with the product. Amcrest even addressed it (on Amazon) in response to one of the reviews. It's a shame they won't address it this time. If this is an "official" Amcrest forum and I assume they're reading our complaints, why aren't they responding? To warn other potential buyers, I just reviewed Amcrest on Amazon, to make sure others don't go through this.
Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
parkinNJ and others having this problem ,called tech. support when i got home and they set up port forwarding for me and so far it is working like it should but it always seemed to work decent when i'm at home. just when i got to to work which is about an hour away it would stop working.i'll let you know more tomorrow when me and the wife go out on our weekend shopping trips.if you do call and have them set up port forwarding make sure you have them stay on phone with you until you know for sure your cameras are working as the tech. was trying to tell me what to do after he did the port forwarding and i had him stay on phone thru the whole process. you'll have to delete your cameras off the p2p and add them in ip/domain/ddns setup with a differant ip address and port number.really hope this solves the problem been working on this for close to 3 weeks ! and also if you go this route when you connect, your wi-fi has to be off just cell signal.
UPDATE : everything worked fine until i rebooted modem, all the portforwarding info was saved but i can not connect with phone . can still connect with laptop with new ip address i was using just not the phone.back to the drawing board !
UPDATE: called support and talked with alex ,he redid the whole port forwarding again on my router but did it a totally differant way than the tech. did friday.he fixed them to work off the quickddns server.so far everthing works great even if my router reboots and changes ip address it will still work. he saved all the info on notepad on my computer for future referance and explained how i can get on any computer and type in the address and port number of each camera which i have 2. it took him about an hour and 15 mins. to do this . he walked me thru setting it up on my phone using the ip/domain/ddns setup.you can only use with cell coverage and not wi-fi which is fine by me. went out of town earlier and was able to view cameras with only 2 bars of 4glte in only a couple of seconds.i have to give credit to alex he was the only tech. person i talked to from support who really took the time to make sure everything worked and i understood how to connect with other computers. other people who are having problems might want to go this route ,if you call support maybe you'll get lucky and get a knowledgeable person as alex. hope this keeps working as i have been having this problem for about 3 weeks now . he said its better hooked up this ways as the p2p servers sometimes has problems ! boy ain't that right !

Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
I have also had the P2P connect issues with 2 720p HD cameras I setup at a restaurant recently for security purposes. Sine the last week we can no longer remotely view the cameras. This was working fine before. This is very frustrating and I've had to cancel orders for more of Amcrest's products for 3 more client installs until this issue can be addressed.

Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
I am glad that I found this post. I have been trying for 2-3 hours per day the past week to try to get this working. I also emailed support but no reply.
Update: I finally got through to technical support and they were able to get the live view to work. Thanks Timothy...

Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
Jeffee, thanks for the update! Just got off the phone with tech support and spoke with Jeffrey, who was able to remote into my computer and setup the DDNS port forwarding. It's working like a champ again; connecting within a few seconds!
Admittedly, he kept pushing to use the P2P but after several back-and-forth and referring to my multiple calls, he finally got my port forwarding working. I forgot about the router reboot but I kept notes on how he setup the port-forwarding in case I need it later.

Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
I have been having issues like this as well. It is frustrating as hell for me, because I am new and still struggling to get this set up in the first place. I spoke to Benjamin as well, on Friday. He said there were P2P issues. If this is as good as it's going to be, I'm sending this thing right back. I knew I shouldn't have ordered another one. I thought after ben got me working Friday I was good to go. Nope. I had to move the camera to it's permanent installation/surveillance position, and now I once again am not able to connect P2P to my phone.
What is going on???
Should I just send these back and look into a competitors product?

Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
Is there an ETA on this issue? This is my baby monitor and I will be returning it in the next couple days and ordering from a functional brand if there isn't a fix.
Worked fine for a few weeks and no longer connects to any app via LAN or WAN, web view works without issue however.

Re: P2P "Failed to connect"
I got my device earlier today and was impressed by how well it connected. Then it stopped working; haven't been able to get it working since, no matter what I've tried (static IP, port forwarding, etc). Have wasted many hours on it. Shame as it's a great camera crippled by unreliable software. One thing of note; I upgraded the firmware to 20160601 version half way through and that seemed to make things worse. I'm now wondering if I'd have been able to coax it back to life if I hadn't upgraded the firmware.
