Would like some precision about IPC External Alarm. Is this related to cameras that have an Alarm input like the tpz HD 1080P or 720P.
That would be interesting if that is related to camera alarm input, to configure the NVR to record a short video of each camera, on a ftp site when the alarm of one camera is triggered. Even though it is also recording localy the same cameras.
I see that FTP setting as an Alarm option also.
Can I have some guidelines of what can be done with this feature.

The alarm ports on the back on the NVR works the same way as the alarm input and output port on the back of the IP cams you mentioned.Recording can be triggered or an alarm out can be sent to an external alarm if connected.
You can record videos to an FTP location from the NVR or the cameras directly on a schedule or based on motion detection.
