I'm a new owner of a NV4108E recorder. I had it all setup and viewing camera footage fine.
I accidentally set gui resolution to 3840x2160 and HDMI tv went to invalid signal.
Popped a vga cord onto back and tv cannot still cannot resolve resolution.
Read where I could leave unit unplugged a couple of days and settings would be lost.
Kept it unplugged for a week and still no luck getting back to gui.
I don't feel like purchasing a 3840x2160 monitor just to set it back to a lower resolution.
So, I looked at the motherboard and there is a reset switch. Which I held down for 60s+ with unit powered on and no reset beep.
How does someone go about doing a factory reset on a NV4108E?
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you could not see or use the NVR interface when you attached a VGA cable, you might try it again and make sure all of the steps are done that are on this page:

Hello,
If you have the NVR connector to a router, then login to the web interface from a PC and from there you can change the Display out putresolution back to 1080P or 1280x1024 to correct the issue.

Thanks Melvin, that worked.

I made the same mistake. I've not set up access from a PC yet. Is it possible to set up the PC access without being able to view the GUI on the NVR?

Welcome to the Forum @abseesit
You can log into the IP address for your NVR over IE and then once you log on you can add your cameras into your view but if you want to make the change to lower Res you would click on the COG wheel looking thing at the top of the window. Then click on Setting this Display and make the change there.. Here is a Picture of my 4108

@victoria13 in the event that you setup device already once before you should have already setup network. If not it most likely is 192.168.1.108. If it is setup from another before buying it used then you would need to know the ip it was setup with
