No lights during initial setup

Post by CDS »

Hello, I just received my camera today IP3M-943B. (It's the wifi bullet camera). I'm trying to do the initial setup. I tried both the wifi and the ethernet setup. I don't see any status lights on the camera, and the setup is telling me to wait for the green light to come on. I see where the green light is, but it never comes on. The camera feels warm, so I'm assuming it is getting power, but no light. Do I have a defective unit? Thank you.

I just went through the app setup. It says "Camera Successfully Connected!", but when I try "Start Live View", I get the "Failed to Connect" message.

So, phone is connected and am able to view the live feed. I did do a factory reset, and in doing so, found the green light that was inside the panel with the reset button and the sim card slot. Will be getting my NVR and hard drive tomorrow. This is kind of a pain, but I think I will be happy in the long run.

Does anyone know if the green light on the camera should light up when plugging it into the power outlet. Mine does not light up on three different cameras. All the same model 943

I also have this problem. Does anyone answer our questions? Looks like no one with the same problem got an answer. I need to know if my cameras are defective so I can return them if so. Thank you since November 2017

I guess no one can answer my question so I will. :) I finally figured out where the little green light is. It is not the green light you see in the camera lens. It is a green light that is inside the little plate you take off to insert your SD card!! Who would know?!! Too bad they aren't more specific in the instructions. I just went ahead and set up my cameras and they worked. It wasn't until I wanted to take a card out and hadn't unplugged the camera, which I ususally would, that I saw the green light. Hope this helps any new people trying to set up a camera.

You are right! Honestly, I even didn't believe it is the case. I though it is the light related to the card state, but then I enabled and disabled the Indicator Light through their chrome plugin for configuration, and yes, the green light under the plate responded.
Btw, there are at least 2 indicators there. The "bad" one is red.
