New camera default user name password incorrect
New camera default user name password incorrect
I'm trying to set up an ASH22-W I just ordered from Amazon. I can't seem to get it set up as I keep getting an incorrect username/password. I'm trying admin/admin, not sure what else to try. I've tried factory resetting by holding the reset for 30 seconds. I can seen the camera in Amcrest IP Config and it's pulling an IP address, I just can't get logged in.
Re: New camera default user name password incorrect
Hello and Welcome to the forum
So new camera normally comes with instructions on what needs to be done to setup a camera. First that camera while it looks like an IP camera it really isn't .. That is what is called a Smart Home Camera and as such requires Amcrest Smart home app to start it. Once started you will have access to camera over app, over RTSP, on Amcrest NVR, or 3rd parts NVR/Software but there is no WebUI in that camera. App or software/NVR dependent camera..

Re: New camera default user name password incorrect
Ah that was it. I thought I could use the same app as my other Amcrest cameras. Didn't realize this one wasn't an IP camera. I got it working finally and in frigate. My issue now is the color is super green. I've got it in my garage looking out with the door open its hard to make anything out its so green. It's great when the door is closed and it switches to nightvision. Also, if I turn nightvision off and the door is closed colors look normal as far as I can tell. I've tested 2 other cameras a Eufy C120 and a wyze v2 in the exact same spot and both are perfectly fine. Could be just a limitation of the camera. Thanks for the help.

Without seeing pictures I am going to guess a stuck ICR filter?

Re: New camera default user name password incorrect
I've attached a picture. Thought it might just be due to odd contrast of a dark garage with the bright sun shining in but this picture was take at 8am without direct sun. If it is a stuck filter is it fixable?

Re: New camera default user name password incorrect
So from the picture it looks like your camera is stuck in Night mode or the ICR, At night the filter over and in B/W the camera wouldn't notice the Green filter in place. Yet in the day if the filter don't change positions then it can be stuck in a night mode and cause a colored vision effect like this. At times depending on the camera can be Pink and in others can be Green..
So how to fix it. well if the camera has the ability to change day/night by app or interface I would try to cycle the camera from day to night and see if that gets the filter over.. If that don't help. Then might need to tap on the camera to give it an extra little push past the hump..
However worse case camera might be damaged within the Circuit, Normally a camera with an ICR filter you can hear the camera click when it goes from Color to B/W and B/W to color from the motor at the time of the change.. Camera might need to be torn down and some board level troubleshooting to find out it is is a dead motor or bad circuit?
Did you buy your ASH22 new or used? How long ago if new? If new did you buy from Amcrest? If bought used and don't know how to test the ICR the camera is cheap enough that maybe buying a new one is in order?
Not sure about the camera, But for the cost I would look into buying AL-P402W.. IT is new camera and only a few dollars more then the ash22 new. The AL camera has dual lens and looks like dual light and is Pan and Tilt.. Between that and the Amcrest 841v3 both are great cameras and personally would buy them over the ASH line all day. I mean I have my fair share of the Smart Home cameras but ones like doorbell, and Flood light that require Wifi the others that have Eithernet are running on Ethernet..

Re: New camera default user name password incorrect
Purchased new 3 days ago from Amazon. I can hold my hand over it and hear it clicking and when I remove my hand it clicks again after a little bit. I'll send it back to Amazon for a replacement. Was just hoping It'd be something simple. AL-P402W is a bit overkill for the area, a simple bullet does the job perfectly. I already have a IP4M-1041 which has been great. Guess I'll need to do more indepth research in the cameras before I pull the trigger again.
Re: New camera default user name password incorrect
Well normally if you hear the click and it don't switch then there is an issue with the Filter itself. Normally there is a little wire that is kind of spring loaded that has a connection to motor and the filter. It could be that in shipping or if the driver tossed the camera when setting it out for delivery that it just happen to hit in a way that knocked it out. Normally it is a Z type connection so not easy to do but being new and stuck sounds like disconnected ICR spring wire.. Now I don't have handy one to show where the spring can come loose but as you can see from this picture of a Motorized zoom lens the ICR is the little black box area with the red and black wires. Not a large current item seeing such small wires for the motor.. The other wires are for the zoom and focus motors for the lens.. The red line is showing the ICR and the wires for power and ground for the little thing.
