I just bought one new QCam in the hopes of using multiples of these in the future and am trying to get this one "working".
The problem right now is that I can't seem to access it.
I'm on a Mac (OSX) and tried multiple paths with no good results on any of them:
1) Verified it showed up on my router. So DHCP is working. I then assigned it a reserved IP based on its mac address, and rebooted it, and it showed up again with the new IP. DHCP / camera must be working ok.
2) I tried to access that IP with chrome. It redirects to http://192.168.1.16/MacClient.html?ipPort=9000, and shows the QCam logo for a few seconds (slow to load, though), and then directs me to a page that says I need to set up the web client plugin. I've downloaded this plugin and installed it (if I try to install again, it asks me if I want to overwrite)
3) I relaunch chrome, but get the same result
4) Knowing the plugin was named with "safari", I tried this in safari. Same result. Redirect to page telling me to download the plugin. That's all I ever get.
5) I tried the chrome plugin "Amcrest web view", but get the same redirect there.
6) I downloaded the Amcrest IP Config tool, but no combination of broadcast / search by domain (set to 192.168.1.1 with IP number 255) or even searching directly for its IP (192.168.1.16) ... nothing shows up inside the tool.
So I'm stuck ... any ideas how to access this so I can see if I can get more of these cameras? (hoping these will work). I can try a windows machine if need be (have to go borrow one), or a linux machine.

Re: New Amcrest QCam not showing (osx)
Hello Mactastik ,
May I know the model number of the product you are using? If you are using a Qcam Ip camera, please use the Qcam smart client software. Also make sure the plugins are allowed in safari if you are using the browser. Safari is the only browser supported in Mac right now.

It's an IP2M822E, and your suggestion worked. I didn't know there was a separate viewer / config app other than the amcrest one. That one connected and worked fine. Thanks!
Unfortunately, even though the plugin is enabled in safari, I still just loop through the "setup web client plugin". No way to access it in safari yet.
I'm definitely wondering if there's different options in safari vs the qcam smartclient (encoding / resolution / framerate / etc / etc).

Hello Mactastik ,
Glad that it worked for you. Its the correct program for this camera. You can try deleting the plugin for the camera and reinstall it. Also clear the browser cache to see if it works.
To delete the plugin, you need to go to Macintosh HD > Librabry > Internet Plugins and from there find the Qcam plugin and trash it.

Sadly, no dice there. I had done it before, but just to try again, I cleared the cache, removed the plugin, closed and reloaded the browser, checked there was no cache for that site still, loaded the camera site, downloaded and installed the plugin, closed and reloaded the browser, checked there was still no cache data, and went to the camera site ... still just got the "download plugin" link and no access to the camera.
It's not critical since the smart client software seems to work, but definitely odd that no browser is working with this camera. My only hope with the browser software might be that I can adjust a few more things than the smart client? Things like keyframes / encoding / etc? Not sure if there's any difference or not.

Hello Mactastik ,
Not sure what else might be causing this issue. But the web UI and the software basically works the same way. The options are exactly the same.
