New Amcrest Cams - total pixelation problems

Post by rheine3 »

Looking for advice with new Amcrest cams.

I have four older Foscams and two brand new Amcrest IP2M-84B cams. I have jogged all the setting around and this is the best picture I can get. They are both acting like this.

I started with defaults then tuned my saturation down a little. The green, red, and white pixels vibrate. It looks the same as when you take a 320X240 video and display it at 640X480. This camera in the driveway is probably 30 feet from the router.

Here is a picture from my Foscam that is 150 feet from the router.

I brought the camera in and set it up in the same room as the router.
Here is a video clip at defaults except 1080P.

Hello rheine3,

Can you check please check if the sub stream is appearing normal? Also please try the below settings and see if that helps.

Go to the Setup > Camera > Configuration

1. Make sure the Anti-Flicker is on Outdoor.
2. BLC Mode - HLC (High Light Compensation)

I had ip or port conflict problems. I wire reset to factory for 15 sec, when it self rebooted let the router dhcp me. Pulled up the new ip in the browser. Perfect picture. Next changed the wired ip in the TCP/IP Network section, switched to wireless settings, put in the ip form the dhcp (wired and wirless cannot be the same). Then set wireless as the default. Save.

Back at the router, reserved the ip, added port forwarding, done.

Found a solution for pixelation issue. On AMCREST Web View - Setup > Video - Change Encode Mode from MJPEG to H.264H. On AMCREST View app - Configuration Center > Video Stream > SELECT CAMERA > IPC > Encode -Change from MJPEG to H.264H and SAVE.
This fixed all our pixelation issues. - Good luck.
