Hello all, So 2+ years ago I bought a couple of long range IP cameras. One almost 2 times the cost of the other, to be fair costly one is 3 almost 4 years old.. Anyway Issue was I found the first 22x zoom camera at almost 3k in price but I needed it. I mean not really but because of the place the camera was placed I have in the past used a 27x PTZ but because of the placement it was a waste and at the time I found the camera a 22x bullet I needed the long range to monitor my gates.. Well it seems that the second one cheaper camera has now died and I need a replacement. I don't want to spend 3k or 1400 that I paid for the one that has died.. Anyway The Sharpshooter 4.0 v2 26BV4M-XLP Specs is almost the same camera just from different company with same sensor 1/1.8" and zoom of 6.5 ~ 143 mm with f/1.5 to 3.4.. I will admit while it did work almost as good as the one I paid almost 3k for it was missing a few of the extras the more costly one offered.. Plus if I was honest the camera at night don't have as clear of picture of the Lighthunter 22x camera that I have mounted on the back of the house facing the back gate.. Issue is and why I don't want to replace with PTZ is that pan and tilting the camera is a waste seeing there is just trees on either side in both the front and back and both have clear light of sight to the gates One is 300 feet and the second higher priced one is about 348 feet to the gate and with both cameras having 4mp with an ok sized image sensor and high power IR. Both of the cameras have an output alam that I use to turn on a long range White POE Led iluminar that then turns the camera into a color at night camera..
So What I need is a long range 4mp camera that can see 300+ feet in darkness and has good sensor and f/stop with alarm out to trigger my white led light.. The problem is that camera has no extra lights in the area With trees on both sides of driveway it is dark. Even the street light that it can see is over 400 feet from the camera so it don't offer really an help in lighting the driveway to see at night so having Long range IR is a must.
So had my son go pull the camera and he put an older 32x PTZ up for now that didn't offer IR so had him installed my older still working Long Range IR iluminar to light the way until I can get a true replacement or repair the Sharpshooter 4.0 and install it back..
Only knew it is offline because my neighbor that keeps an eye on my property for me heard a tree fall in a storm and wanted to make sure it didn't hit the house or barn. When he went down the driveway the camera didn't trigger the white long range led that lights the driveway and at first thought maybe had power outage from the tree but then the garage strobes went off when he pulled in front of the garage so he went in and checked the monitor and the Sharpshooter camera was offline.. He called me and after a little while trying to figure it out at the NVR it is just dead.. It has Analog output and that connects to a monitor port on a matrix I have there so no picture even turning on a 12v power supply that I have connected but off didn't turn on the camera so yeah it is dead..
So I was thinking that maybe I will have to brake drown and buy the 1062, Well it is an ANPR camera it is really only thing that feels like it might be close enough. I mean sure the 50mm isn't any where as close as the Sharpshooter.. However to be fair the Amcrest camera seems to have a fixed fstop where the Sharpshooter has something like 1.5 to 3.4 or something like that and while i do use a Long Range white led light to view the drive on event trigger..
Anyone with the 1062 able to share some insight to the cameras sepcs.. My 2 22x Bullet cameras do offer Presets I know I keep asking about IP cameras that offer them like my 10x TVI but truth be told these are not any normal bullet camera as they are 8lbs and like 15 in long lol. Anyway any chance of the 1062 having a built in heater as well? my 2 long range IP camears do and are installed in open to snow, freezing rain and the like so heater is kind of needed but not a deal braker. I do need a working alarm output. So any ideas? I mean I am sure I get the camera here I will be able to repair..
So doing the math 50mm would be about 7.7x zoom factor on the camera so i will have to see how that looks on the other camera.. I know normally my cameras are running at somethhing like 16.8x this is about 110mm of the 143mm max and the back is normally set at 18.4x. Or about 120mm it is 119.6 but there is at times slight more moving of the lens before numbers change so they are not exact so maybe 50mm in the Amcrest camera isn't going to work to well.. Might have to buy a PTZ if I can get one with good enough sensor and just disable the Pan motor and force it stationary.. Just need 4mp and 1/1.8" sensor would prefer a good 1.4 or 1.0 fstop..
