Linking ASH21 w/ synology surveillance station

Just purchased the ash21 and love it but i was wondering if its possible to link to with surveillance station so i can view it in the same app as my other amcrest cameras and record all video to nas

hi @Fraserb2 and welcome to the forum. i believe the answer is yes but you will need to be on the the most recent updated releases, which are svs 8.2.7 and client 1.2.8.

I have both of those updated. Any ideas on the settings for how to set it up?

you have to add it as a user defined camera using rtsp streaming with this url,

rtsp://admin:<password>@<ash21_ipaddress>:554/

Thank you. i am not quite a computer person by any means so I want to make sure I am doing this correctly. For the password and IP address I do not include the <>, correct? Also is 554 the standard port for the camera or do I have to set that up as port forwarding on my router? Lastly nothing else should follow the / when inputting?

that is correct. you do not include the <> when calling out the password and ip address. 554 is the standard rtsp port hence no need to set up port forwarding. you will need to include the / after 554. you may even need to include a <space> after the / depending on the application processing the rtsp. try first without the <space> after the /. good luck.

Hmmm. still not working. is there anything I have to do in the Amcrest Smart app to setup the camera for the rtsp settings?

there is nothing to do with the camera or with the smart home app. i don't have a ash21 to test but i do recognize it as a smart home series camera and these smart home series cameras should support rtsp.

can you try the full code for rtsp?

Are you able to live veiw from window base laptop with "amcrest surveillance pro" software installed where camea is connected on WIFi( not via physical ethernet cabel) to your home router ?

I refer follwong link but on software it never shows online - it just says network host not found.

I only able to view by phone app not by any other means. if you are able to do so like to what are the settings or steps to achive that.

It appears the ASH21 will not open the needed ports to connect with other apps while on WiFi. I bet you will find if you connect it to Ethernet you are able to add it.
