Ipad Amcrest Lite Fail to Connect

I am having trouble getting Amcrest View Pro to connect. I go to Device Manager, select Quick DDNS but after that things become unclear.

What goes in the 'Name' field: -- my name, Amcrest, my email address...?
What goes in the 'Address field: -- amcrest.quickddns.com, mymac.quikcddns.com, .quickddns.com?
What goes in the 'User Name' field: -- my email address, my 'real name' from the DDNS site, admin....?
What goes in the 'Password' field: -- my DDNS passwork, my Amcrest box password, ....

I've tired every combination of these without success.

Name can be anything. It's just a nickname for your system.
Address is the URL or IP address of your DVR (assuming you are using the URL/IP registration method). If you are using quickddns, it is the value in the Domain Name field of the DVR settings (See the attachment for a screenshot).
Username is the username you use to log into your DVR
Password is the password for the specified user on your DVR.

The mobile app one is here, but it only deals with the P2P registration method that many of us have had problems with.

Here is what I did and I finally got it to work after trying to get it to link up for hours. I upgraded the firmware and P2P still didn't work.

Open up the app Amcrest viewer Pro
Select Device Manager
I selected Register Mode IP/Domain

Name: whatever you want it to be

Address: You will need you log into you DVR. Main Menu->Network->TCP/IP. Make sure the mode is on static. Get your IP address and type that into the address line on the app. Make sure LAN download is ticked at the bottom. Not sure what that does but that was the reason why mine would not connect.

Port: 37777

User Name: What you type to get into your DVR

Password: What you type to get into your DVR.

I did this method because I could not get DDNS to connect. Hope this helps anyone not spend hours like I did.

For iPad users you must use the Amcrest "Link" app. Although the Apple App Store only lists the "link" app under iPhone, still download it directly via your iPad and it will work just fine. ONLY USE "LINK" FOR IPHONE AND IPAD.

I have the same issue - how did you get it to connect? Mine keeps failing and I am using the right app. Is there something on the system itself that I must enable?

I apologize for the delayed response. bns2nt, what is your connection method? P2P or IP/DDNS? Also, what system are you using? If it's IP/DDNS on a 960h, you will need to port forward the HTTP port and the 9000 port. Most internet providers disable forwarding port 80 so I would recommend changing it. Once you have done that, you can use the external IP of your network to connect to your device.

I too am having the same issue. Solved.

Connect your ipad to your itunes account and look for "Amcrest Link" in the App Store. Install the app through iTunes and re-sync. Everything works fine. Amcrest Lite is the problem! Seems Amcrest Link is the reliable version.

Note: Android Playstore has Amcrest Link. Apple Store app on my iPad only finds Amcrest Lite and Pro

I was able to use the amcrest pro app on my ipad mini.

I still however cannot get the app to work properly with my iphone. Same thing, it seems to add the camera fine, but when you try and go to live view it says "failed to connect". I verified DDNS is working.
