IP8M-T2499EW Day/Night Profile Management Menu

Post by amcrestdude »

Howdy All,

The camera's menu and options are not the same as shown in the manual. Anyone know what the difference is between "General" and "Day/Night"?

Thanks

Normally I have seen only 3 options in this menu area lol... I guess someone started something that might have better controls for the end user (You)

Normally there is General, Full time and Schedule...

So the Day/Night Is the Odd One out of that menu...

However looking over older FW it was from back in 2015 though 2017

Normal, Full time and Schedule...

To be Honest without seeing what is added in the other menus it would be hard to know what is and why... The list above that I said went from General and so on is from my Camera just different Version of FW seeing I don't update all my cameras I like to be able to reference back if needed..

So for me there was only 2 options I used.. What it came out of the box set to (Full Time) or Schedule and that is because I want things to happen from a set time that I can pick on the Slider of the Schedule menu until another time and from that time to this time it will do what I tell it to act like in Night menu and what I tell it to be in Day Menu.. IF you don't need to make loads of Changes for your camera to work then just keep it in Full time Mode and that will keep the Full time or General area of use setup for Auto and it will change for the light or night...
Be Safe.

@amcrestdude
When Day/Night is enabled, your day and night settings will change when the camera senses that the light available has changed. The other Profile Management settings can't do that. You would have to see if your camera model works properly.
There is an API command that will do the same thing for cameras that don't have Day/Night setting. It's posted somewhere in this forum.
