IP8M-2496EB 4k local resolution, 1080p cloud resolution

Postby phongshader » Tue Mar 26, 2019 10:08 pm

I was wondering if it is possible to set up these cameras to record locally to an sd card at 4k and 1080p to Amcrest Cloud?

This is a great idea, However, it is not possible. The cloud will act as primary for settings and reduce the bitrate, FPS and resolution to match up what it can handle and you can adjust these settings inside of the cloud.

I will send the Idea to our R&D team as its a good idea. However, unfortunately, it is not possible at this time.

How does a person adjust those settings in the Amcrest Cloud?

An article has been created to show these steps in more detail.

https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... rest-Cloud

Below is a short how-to on the process:

*****************************************
Cloud option- changing resolutions
****************************************

With the camera on the cloud, please verify the setting is set to the highest resolution possible on the cloud.

The cloud will override many settings causing the camera to revert if not set up.

To edit these settings from the cloud home page:

Select the camera and verify it is highlighted in green.

Select the triangle to the right of the camera name.

A menu will appear. select edit.

Edit Camera (Camera Configuration/settings) window will appear

Go down the list to Quality. Use the dropdown menu to change the resolution to

Verify Image appearance is set to the highest resolution or the option you prefer. Then Save. The resolutions available will depend on the camera model of the camera and what resolutions the camera is capable of using. That should prevent from changing the resolution settings. Please keep in mind the higher the resolution, the more network resources it will use especially upload speed. If you start experiencing partial clips (usually around 30 sec) or limited viewing, it is possible to consider lowering the resolution.
