IP8M-2493EW-V2 Upgrade package invalid?

I have several model IP8M-2493EW-V2 cameras:

Example:
Software VersionV2.800.00AC001.0.R, Build Date: 2020-09-04
WEB VersionV3.2.1.880675
ONVIF Version19.06(V2.6.1.845551)
S/NAMC0645357B5584F30

Firmware obtained from https://amcrest.com/firmware yielded this file for the above devices:

Amcrest_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Eng_NP_Stream3_AMCREST_V2.622.00AC000.0.R.210319.bin

After selecting the downloaded firmware file and following procedures at https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/articles/235553688, when clicking the upgrade button, yields:

Update package invalid and update failed. Device will reboot immediately

I tried this on two units with identical results. I also tried the "previous version" and also received identical results.

PC is a Lenovo running Windows 10.

What am I doing wrong? Everything else on these cameras works perfectly...

Hello and Welcome to the forum

This is a Guess and only a guess off what your posting the info your listing is for 2 different cameras...

There are different models when you see a V2 compared to one listed without v2...

So like in the since of the 841, there is a v1 and v2 that both take the same FW however there is a V3 that isn't the same and requires a different FW package..

Then in your Example the camera is showing a FW of 2.800.00AC001.0.R, so on..
Yet the DL file is showing a 2.622.00AC000.0.R. so on... the camera going to would also need to be a 2.622 camera of its kind. My guess is that the Camera you have is different from the camera the FW is being offered for and could be the case if the camera current FW is from 2020..

I wondered if my -V2 version might be different, but it seems that the only firmware offered for the IP8M-2493EW is that one on the firmware page that I have already tried.... so - either is there not a firmware upgrade available for the -V2, or if there is... where?

Yes at times there is cameras released that won't have a FW on the listing until one has been released.. It is like my 1046EW-AI camera isn't listed anywhere on the FW page.. Then at times if the camera is there and non listed it might have been there was an issue on the one released so they removed it..

OK, could be that - given that the current firmware was dated 9/2020, there may simply not be an upgrade available. I'm sure official tech support can weigh in at some point. I just always check FW revs when I buy new stuff to be sure I get any bugs/kinks worked out, if any.

Understand and a good thing to do.. Because at times something might be released without knowing there was a bug.. But yeah my 1046EW-AI camera was released in 2020 as well without a new FW to date.. If it isn't broke don't fix it comes to mind.. Security issues in my mind is broke lol... SO this makes me feel so far good that my AI hardware is ok at this time.. Have a great weekend and be safe..
