IP5M Camera Picture Squeezed on screen

Post by belle »

Having problems viewing new installed IP5M-D1188E dome camera. I've attached photos for comparison of it and another IP5M camera in the garage. I've tried all resolutions and same settings as garage camera but same issue. The only difference is the software version of the two cameras are different, 2.820... for the new camera I'm having issues with and 2.800... for the garage camera. Picture is squeezed on PC screen, NVR monitor and also my IPad. Not sure if I can or should try to roll back software to older version on new camera. Any advice appreciated.

It's not squished, it's rotated 90 degrees (useful in corridor/hallway applications).

Make sure that's set to 0 degrees.

I have the same issue. If you select a 4:3 resolution (like the camera's default 2592x1944 - a 4:3 video format), the picture looks correct (no distortion.)

If you select a 16:9 video format (1080p, 720p, or 2688x1520), the resulting picture looks slightly squashed, as you pictured.

This is disappointing, and the error appears with either of the firmware versions available.

*my issue was not the rotation issue, but 16:9 video being squashed (4:3 stretched horizontally to 16:9)
