I bought this camera under a recommendation from an online user. I got it with the sole intention of being able to keep an eye on a mother Cardinal who has taken up residency outside our house. The camera is mounted about 18" from the nest, and as you'll see in the picture, it's.... unremarkable. Am I doing this wrong? If I use the digital zoom feature the picture is even less clear. I don't think this camera has a means of focus adjustment although there was no documentation included in the box.
I was sort of expecting to see a bigger, more clear picture.
here is what I'm seeing.

You apparently know your camera camera IP address and ID/password, so you may be able to access the Amcrest Web UI in Linux by putting your IP address in chrome browser.
Maybe your subject is too close, but you won't find focus adjustment. Try increasing your bitrate, changing resolution, etc. in Setup.
Here the user manual etc., but you could skip the amcrest cloud and amcrestview.com parts.

Also, check your other thread about youtube.

You apparently know your camera camera IP address and ID/password so you may be able to access the camera Web UI on Linux using chrome with amcrest chrome extension(if you can find it), or with pale moon 32 browser. Depends on your camera firmware that's installed. You will find settings there. Also try Amcrest View Pro app on your phone or tablet.
