I have 10 of the IP4M-1051 4MP cameras and a few months ago learned the drawn out way the screw threads for the wall mounts had been changed by Amcrest. Somehow I got a camera that did not match the provided screw thread mount supplied. I think it was an Amazon Warehouse return that got scrambled.
I foster rescued cats and kittens for a non-profit and use some of these cameras to keep an eye on pregnant feral cats. Putting these cams on tripods allows me know when a cat delivers and how good a care they render to their babies.
Some of the IP4M-1051 4MP cameras have a standard camera tripod screw size. Others of the same model have a different tread.
Wikipedia states most consumer cameras are fitted with 1/4"-20 UNC threads. My consumer tripods fit some of these cameras but not others.
Amcrest: what is the tread size of the other manufacturing run of these cameras?
Amcrest: which thread size is CURRENT? For when I may order additional cams.
thank you
