IP2M-841B with Ip Cam Viewer Pro (iOS)

Post by splynncryth »

Can anyone either provide or point out step by step instructions for getting IP Cam Viewer Pro to work with an Amcrest IP2M-841B camera? I see plenty of posts where someone says "I got it working" but nothing to help determine some of the fields to be filled out.

I have the camera set up on my network with a fixed IP.
Under setup->network->connection I changed HTTP port to match with a scheme I use for my Foscams where the port number I use is derived from the IP I assign.
All other ports are set to default.

Setup->Camera->Video->Main Stream->Encode Mode is set to H.264
Sub Stream is disabled

Setup->Camera->Audo->Encode->Encode Mode is set to G.711A.
Sub Stream is disabled.

For IP Cam Viewer Pro, II have tried the values under TCP Port, UDP port, HTTP port and RTSP port in IP Cam vier Pro’s “Port” field.
I ran through that list with CH.# set to 0 and 1.

What are the correct value to use?

Hello splynncryth,

Please ensure sub stream is enabled in video settings. Try with http as well as TCP ports. If you want to access remotely post forwarding will have to be set up.

FWIW on the Amcrest camera I selected H.264H encode mode (I don't think this should make a difference), and I did select G.711A for audio; I also enabled Sub Stream for both Video and Audio. For Camera network connection all ports are default except for HTTP for which I changed to a non-privileged port (i.e., >1024) that I have also opened up on my router for port forwarding (this is so I can view the camera video from the internet).

In the IP Cam Viewer Pro app I assume you selected Amcrest IP2M-841 in the Type field, and selected HTTP and entered the appropriate HTTP port number in use for your camera. For IP/Host I entered my custom domain name (workable since I use a combination of a DDNS service and a tool on my home PC which updates my ISP DHCP IP address)--if your ISP assigns you a static external IP address, you can enter it in IP/Host--otherwise you'd enter the internal IP address of your camera. I also presume you have entered the correct username and password for your camera. For Ch# I chose to use 2 since that is the number associated for the Sub Stream (enter 1 if you'd rather view the main stream) and I am fine with the video quality that results from viewing it over the Sub Stream vs. the main stream--also helps with streaming throughput if you are viewing it over the internet. You shouldn't have to mess with the More Options settings in order to successfully view your Amcrest cameras via the IP Cam Viewer Pro app.
