IP2M-841B - Multiple emails, MMS and No.of snapshots

Post by srikanth003 »

Alright. I bought this as an upgrade to my current Foscam and I received it yesterday. I love the camera quality, even though there are quirks like having to use multiple applications to access in different platforms (no chrome support, desktop app is clunky mac like clone, 3 different mobile apps - none of them have complete control over all the settings) and the push notification doesn't work always. Anyways, these are not the main concerns for me.

But the absolute must for me is the ability to view the snapshot of the motion detection in my phone. For that, I heavily rely on MMS. It's pretty simple. All I need to do is add my [email protected] to the SMTP configuration recipients and all should be good. But this is where the issues start

1. Mutliple recipient email ids is not working. The system always picks the first one and sends alerts only to that email id.

2. In MMS the photo doesn't show up. I'm fine living with just one recipient email, that is MMS id, the mail gets sent. I guess this may have something to do with the way email message headers are written. (I even setup my gmail account as recipient and set an auto forward to mms email id, still the attachments doesn't show up)

3. There's no ability to see and set the number of snapshots as attachments. It's a pain to see that each and every snapshot in a separate mail.

All the above features are there and work beautifully in my FOSCAM I8910W that I bought 4 years back. I bought this cam as an upgrade to that and apart from the video quality, these issues are really keeping me from using this cam. If there is no resolution or sufficient workaround for these 3 issues (esp. pt.2), I'm intending to return it.

Attached here the FOSCAM (top image) and AMCREST MMS screenshots.

Someone help please.

Regarding your issue #1: I have mine set up to send to two different email addresses and it does work. I'm wondering if something is wrong in your setup. You need a minimum of two email addresses, one as the sender and one as the receiver. In your case, you need one email as a sender and the MMS address is your receiver. Be sure the Attachment box is checked on the Subject line.

Yep, I do have a sender and a receiver email address setup. I am talking about more than one receiver email addresses, which isn't working. It always picks first added receiver email and ignores the rest.
Edit: Attachment box is checked as well, I see the photo in gmail but just doesn't show up for MMS.

Having this same issue as well. Replaced a dead Foscam with an Amcrest IP3M-941 and now MMS pictures are no longer viewable in any Android messaging apps. They must be downloaded manually and opened. MMS functioned properly on the Foscam with the same settings and carriers. I'm on Sprint and using GMail as the sending service. I actually have two IP3M-941 and this issue occurs on both. I'm running 2.520.AC00.18.R, Build Date: 2017-06-29.

I have the same issue all Amcrest gear. The box has two email addresses but it only makes it to the first email address. It might actually be a Gmail issue since the sent email clearly shows two addresses.

1 x Amcrest NV4116-2TB

2 x IP4M-1051W
Amcrest 4MP UltraHD Indoor WiFi Camera, Security IP Camera with Pan/Tilt, Two-Way Audio, Night Vision, Remote Viewing, Dual-Band 5ghz/2.4ghz, 4-Megapixel @~20FPS, Wide 120° FOV. IP4M-1051W (White)
