Invalid Password for camera:

Post by J450NP13 »

I have two 2K cameras on the 1080 POE system.

The first camera works fine...the second says "Invalid Password" in the channel. The camera is found in the device search.

Does the camera have a default password other than "admin"? I tried the system password and it doesn't work.

Camera was bad. On exchange the new one worked perfectly.

Similar situation. Everything was previously working. I reorganized all the cables. Plugged everything back in. One of the cameras' status shows red dot and displays invalid username/password. The other 3 cameras work.

Camera shows it has power (lights are on outside).

Only thing I could think of is that the camera didn't load in the right space for the Password that it had.. However seeing the others had passwords load in NVR ok makes me wonder if this is a camera that is Rogue and just need to update the password for the camera in the NVR..

Last week had an issue with Internet, I went to reboot the router and it failed to turn on Wifi and pressing the Wifi button didn't do anything.. So I was about to setup the backup router that I had setup when I said I will just reset this one won't take a minute and sadly I missed some cameras not being setup with Static IP,s and the Smart Home cameras that don't get static abilities and even though they come up all the time with good IP because I had my Router setup to give them a Static IP however after a Reset this was gone and some of my cameras that I didn't setup with Static IP an OVERSIGHT on my part and my Smart HOme cameras came in on bad IP's so one of my Doorbells loaded in on Ch7 of my NVR where it is normally on CH6 and my ASH21 camera was on 6.. So I had to Turn off one of them reboot my router after adding the first doorbell to the list with the right IP then my ASH21 when I turned it back on came back as the right IP and in the right place of my NVR.. Then I used IP Config to figure out the other cameras that loaded in wrong and setup them for Static IP so it wouldn't happen again..

Anyway the doorbell came up in the Ash 21 IP and loaded in the NVR offline because the Password ware wrong So that was why I am thinking this might have been what happen maybe your camera loaded in a different channel then it was on before or it is a different camera then what was loaded before and don't have a good password for the NVR to camera connection...
Be Safe.

I'm using an nvr provided by amcrest. All passwords and usernames are the same (default). Regardless in which port I connect the poe camera to, it loads with user name or password incorrect. I was thinking, there must be a "button" to just reset the camera to factory. I reset the nvr and that didn't do anything.

Suggestions?

Spoke with tech support. They had me hold the reset button on the physical camera for 30 seconds. That did the trick.
