"In order to use Amcrest, you must first install/update the ActiveX plugin."

the last 4 days I receive this message on firefox, chrome or explorer when trying to
use Amcrestview. It's the same on desktops or laptops.
I download the plug in, install it and it continues to give the same message.
Can anyone help?

I have been using Amcrestview.com to view three cameras on a MacBook Air. This has worked until recently, although one can only view one camera at a time. The iPad App is much better. Now Amcrestview.com is trying to run the Active-X plug-in that is designed for Windows users. The Program needs to be downgraded to the old version or better yet a proper Mac app similar to that for the iPad needs to be offered. PLEASE DO SOMETHING!

As of March 2017, firefox versions 52 and above disable support for Java.

here is the solution.

you must install 32 bit ESR version of Java. then Amcrestview will work again

You can use Amcrest Surveilance Pro to view your cameras on your desktop.

Totally agree -- I will not be installing any plugins, especially unsigned plugins into either Firefox or Safari. Amcrest would do well to use another method for having browser/camera interaction like HTML5 as you suggest.
