Hello and welcome to the forum.

What model camera is this and where is it positioned, inside or outside?

The flare from the lights looks to me as if it is caused by dirt or misting either on a window or a dome. Is the camera image OK during the day?

How are you accessing it, with a web browser perhaps, in general the camera setup/configuration would allow you control of the IR lighting and day/night settings.

I've had a quick look at the user manual for your camera https://s3.amazonaws.com/amcrest-files/ ... Manual.pdf which gives information on how to set the options for night time video. It's more or less the same as mine and I've found that setting up via the web browser interface works the best.

Is the camera within easy reach, if so I would have a close look at the lens aperture to see if there is any internal misting or perhaps fine dust on the outside. I'm assuming that the image you posted wasn't taken on a foggy night, I'm pretty certain that the flare from the street lights isn't entirely down to the camera settings. Although it's never a good idea to have lights shining straight at the camera, there is definitely something more going on there.

Perhaps someone else will have a suggestion to make.

Hello and welcome to the Forum...

It is hard to say to be honest what the issues is... However one of the issues I see with Cameras of this type is lens glares.... There is no dome to protect like a DOME so there is only Glass like you would have on a normal Bullet or Turret type camera this protects the camera that is inside the head... So this looks like a few things to me... One it looks like the glass is covered in some type of dust or water spots after a rain... It also looks like it is Foggy out and that could be one of 2 things.. It really was and that could be Low Density fog almost not able to tell by how Humid it is in the air... Your camera will have a Rating of what it should run at.. Some times it could be a camera is need of less then 85% and some is 90% Condensing... There are some other issues that it might be as well.. If it is an older camera say a year or 2 or more then it could be that the Package of Silica Gel is out of its prime and the different temps of outside if cold and the warm of the camera because of the Power SUpply or the IR being on it could cause fog ups as well.... Also if there is a leak to the air outside could cause issues as well....

About the IR.. There are a few things you can do.. These have as most of Amcrest Cameras have Smart IR and you can change that to adjust from VERY low to all the way up.. However for a PTZ camera is it best to keep it in Smart IR because it has a Small computer built in taking Light LEvel readings and when your ZOOM your camera the IR would get brighter if needed do to the light being low... While your PICTURE is kind of unclear just how far that Light is and if it is any benefit to the ability to help the camera see when the image is closer to your mounting spot

For me I would clean the lens, if older camera say over a year I would change out the Packet that is inside as some people change them yearly and I am one of them... I do have a camera that I might have forgot to change because even though it is heated camera when the Heater turns on at night if temps are really low I can have a fast fog up until the heater gets the camera body up to temperature and that includes the lens as well seeing it is what is fogging up... Temps have changed now so I put it on my list of first camera to make my yearly cleaning on and change it out...

I have been trying to talk my wife into letting me buy one of the cameras you own.. Sadly with all my older PTZ that I have had since before Amcerst was born she keeps telling me I don't make the money I used to when I blew all my money on the OLDER tech I own.. But my Birthday is on the 20th so I keep my fingers crossed lol...

Thanks for the Update... I live in an area that has them issues... I have loads of cameras in my Mix, I have 4 cameras that I don't have that issue with. They are Rain magnets though... I think that is do to the Height I have the Cameras mounted and they are heated and fan. While normally I have them set to Cool, Winter time I do change them over to Auto. This last winter at 12degrees out my camera Temp was still 68degrees.. One of them I had an issue. Heat wasn't coming on. So after some testing I replaced the Regulator Chip for the heater and it was back running again no issue..
