Hidden firmware link

Can someone tell me why the link to the firmware is no longer available?

I got to amcrest.com and click on Support-> Firmware and there is no firmware there. Only an option to sign up for email updates when new firmware is available. I go to the product page and click "firmware" and it takes me to the same page. In my camera Setup->System I click on "download latest" and it takes me to the same useless page. I call tech support and he gives me a direct link:

http://www.amcrest.com/firmwaredownload

and that works. Is there any reason why this is hidden?

That URL just needs an s adding to the end i.e. downloads NOT download
