H264 file???

Post by TinaG423 »

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this. When I download a file from my Amcrest 960H security system it saves as an H264 file. How in the world can I play this type of file? I've tried downloading a program to convert it but it's such a process and takes forever. Also, half the time the conversion process freezes my laptop. Is there an easier way?

Have you tried using the Amcrest SmartClient Video Player?

Amcrest SmartClient Video Player Download & Setup Tutorial

Amcrest SmartClient Video Player Download

Video conversion between different formats can take a substantial amount of time based on the formats and computer hardware (processor type/speed, RAM memory size, etc.)

Thank you. Yes, I have that standalone player. My issue is that I often need to share recordings with people by email. I used to use Foscam IP cameras. With those I was able to find the recording and send it to anyone.

You can use Avdshare Video Converter to Convert DAV to Any Video or Audio Format on Mac/Windows.

Just click the convert to .AVI in the settings and when you download your file it will be a .AVI. Open it with Windows Media Player.
