This morning, my IP2M-841 gave me the following message:
Please note there is an important security firmware upgrade available for your device. Due to the urgent nature of this upgrade, your device will be upgraded automatically. Please do not disconnect the power or network
Not sure what is going on here, but the camera seems to do an upgrade, succeeds, but then the next time I connect, I get the same message.
Even after multiple upgrades and reboots, the message keeps coming up and the camera keeps upgrading. Infinite loop.
My camera is now unusable.
Anyone else getting this, or know what is going on?

Re: Forced Firmware Update
It's happening now.
IP Cam keep connecting to below addressess:
dh.amcrestsecurity.com
http://www.amcrestcloud.com
s3.amazonaws.com
Dear AMCREST team,
Pls inform the customer if you're going to do the update especially holiday season where virus/trojans/spyware are active.
I don't see any announcement at your firmware update page.
Pls also publish checksum ( sha256 sum ) of your firmware file on your website for us to verify.

Re: Forced Firmware Update
I deleted my IP camera in www.amcrestcloud.com, the Amcrest Web View works even though the stupid forced upgrade message window still occupies at the middle.
Re: Forced Firmware Update
I temporarily blocked outgoing traffic from IP Cam to WAN/Internet and now it's operational. I'm not so sure that's the workaround soulution but it works for me.
My camera try to connect below 2x IP addresses on several occasions.
DST=199.101.145.40
DST=54.224.83.234

Hi jondoe,
I tried to block the two sites you listed in my router, the message is still showing up.

Re: Forced Firmware Update
Here's how I solved it:
Download the firmware manually.
Access your camera through your web browser.
When the message about the mandatory firmware update pops up, DO NOT click the OK (or whatever it is) button. Just leave that message window up.
Go to System, then Upgrade.
Browse for the firmware file you just downloaded and click Upgrade.
The firmware will install and it should stop bugging you about the upgrade.

Re: Forced Firmware Update
At least the Amcrest Support put the new firmware in the website this morning. I did manually upgrade but the message is still popping up. Is anyone having the same problem as mine?

Re: Forced Firmware Update
I wasn't getting the message for a while, but now it's popping up again.
A temporary fix would be to use Adblock to hide the element with an ID of upgradeDialog.
