Re: firefox and internet explorer plugins no longer working
Firefox updated a couple of days ago and I can't access my cameras again. The firefox plugin hack no longer works as of Firefox 55. Same thing as before, "download and install the plugin", but it never loads video. It keeps prompting to download and install plugin and never asks to activate the plugin to "allow and remember" or anything. I've set exceptions to my site and nothing works.
Melvin, how far along is your development team on an actual fix for viewing our cameras through a webpage?

Hello amcrustedbutte,
So you already tried the workaround for the firefox?
The camera works with IE still. I will check on any possible time frame for the Firefox issue fix.

That's correct, Melvin. The camera still works with IE but no longer with Firefox 55.0.1 with the "workaround".

Re: firefox and internet explorer plugins no longer working
I just got off the phone with someone who said the Chrome browser is not supported but developers are working on it. For the last how many months? He said the only browsers their plugins work for as of today, August17th, 2017 is Internet Explorer (not edge) and Safari for Mac. Not Chrome browser, the worlds most popular browser that is used by over 60% of people worldwide? This is a fail on the "reliable" portion of Amcrest's Slogan, as well as the "Simple" part. I like your products, but this is ridiculous.

Gachogavacho, they lied to you. They've lied to all of us. Two years ago they said Chrome support was coming. It wasn't and it isn't. Melvin has stopped responding to any questions about Chrome support. Amcrest knowingly deceives its customers. Check out this thread from 2015:

Re: firefox and internet explorer plugins no longer working
I'm really disappointed in these Amcrest cameras, are there fundamental problems or is it all about the software? For example, would another $6/mo cloud recording service work better?
To the subject of this thread, as a data point, amcrestview.com has stopped working for me in Firefox (v55.0.3, 32-bit) but the plugin does seem to work in IE (v 11.0.9600.18762 [update v 11.0.45]). IOW, the fix may be "have you tried accessing the page in Internet Explorer?"
It's the 90s again!

IE Connects but....
Does anyone have a solution to this? I can connect with IE but ever since the Win 10 Creators update it is zoomed in too close. The maximum zoom out is still much too close. It doesn't even allow the PTZ panel to fit on the screen. I am connecting remotely using xxxxx.amcrestddns.com:port. Anyone?

Hello,
For the scaling issue on IE, the following work around can be tried.
1) Go to C:\Program Files\webrec\Torch\3.0.0.3
2) Select the WebActiveX.exe file.
3) Right click, select “Properties” then on the “Compatibility” tab, check the box “Override high DPI scaling behavior”, “Scaling performed by” then select “Application”.
