false alarms

false alarms

So it was my first night using the new 1080 camera. I received more than 40 alerts through the night. There was no real activity when I checked the videos. But I have these 40 odd 30 second clips now! Why am I getting sooooooooo many false alerts ? :(

Help !the alarms are just flooding in every 5-10 minutes!!

Hello,
I would suggest you change the Video detection settings to reduce the false alarms. from the cameras' web interface, go to set up > video Detection and then reduce the sensitivity and increase the hold. You may have to play around with these settings a little to figure out the correct combination that works for you.

On the QCAM model I do not see any mention of a threshold setting, only sensitivity. Where is it located?

It is in the menu where you set the region of motion detection
