Events over the network.
Events over the network.
I'm looking at purchasing a IP8M-VB2896EW-AI camera but I need the ability for the camera to send networked based notification if it detects motion. It can be http API or snmp or some other means, but I need something that I can use to tell the recording system to start pulling down high bitrate video without needing to do it all of the time. Is this feature supported? I looked at the manuals and didn't see the ability to call a URL when an event is triggered like I do on axis cameras. Any ideas?

See Amcrest API at
https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... TP-API-SDK
I would try Section 4.9.17 Subscribe to event message, or look for something else there.

Re: Events over the network.
I appreciate the feedback, but that's not really what I'm looking for. I'm not looking to talk to an API on the camera, but for the camera to call an API on some other system when there is motion. From what I'm reading it sounds like the only thing that the camera supports is an external system subscribing to ONVIF events. Then it knows when to record or not.
Re: Events over the network.
Here's some standard ways to record motion detection videos.
The camera can be setup with its Web UI to use DDNS to send motion detect videos to a FTP server or a NAS.
Or if you have a PC on the same network as the camera, you can use Amcrest Surveillance Pro with PC-NVR.
Or use a hardware NVR or Blue Iris.
