I'm gonna try this but before I do will this also mess with my current camera settings? Like sensitivity, etc?

Yes. It will. Let me do a quick check to see if a backup/restore will store all of settings without storing the account information.

So I have confirmed it. This will preserve the camera and event settings but remove the account settings: Backing up the config, Settings>System>Config Backup - Config Export, system update using the file I provided earlier, login and create a new password, go through the setup wizard (or skip as you're going to be restoring these settings anyways), then import the config file.

Note: I'm not positive on what exactly the settings are that are backed up with the Config Backup function. It should be everything except account settings, but I have not tested this myself to be 100% positive.

It won't let me import the config file. Says it's a incorrect file. I did it using the WebUI and then saved it to my computer. Transferred it over to a flash drive and plugged that into the DVR. It recognized the flash drive but doesn't recognize the file when I attempt to import it. Now I have to start completely over with everything which I'm not happy about since it took me hours to get it the way I wanted it.

Once the user account has been setup you should be able to log back into the DVR through the web interface then re-import it there. I thought it used the same .backup format. When I tested it, I did the export/import through the web ui.

Well I set everything back up to the way it use to be except for the camera settings. I'll adjust them soon. The phone app is sketchy though when I'm at home for some reason. Works one time but then not the next which can be an hour later. Doesn't matter if I'm on my home wifi or thru the Verizon network. But it works perfectly if I'm at my business where the system is located.

Generally when it doesn't connect or times out, there isn't enough bandwidth. Do you know what the upload speed is at your work? You can use www.speedtest.net to determine this.

It's at home where my issues lie and my internet speed is actually faster at home than at my shop. But it won't even connect using Verizon's 4G sometimes. Other times it will depending where I'm at.

Well the signal is going to be coming from the office so that is where the upload speed is crucial. Since it isn't wanting to connect very well on any outside network, this seems the most likely culprit.

My upload speed at my work is 1.08mbps. I only have a 5mbps DL and 1mbps UL service.
