I am having a motion detect problem. I have enabled Motion Detect. I have set the detect schedule. I have set and reset the detect zone many times. BUT, every time I check the zone, none of the squares are colored. BUT, it records video clips numerous times. Cars going by, people walking dogs, FedEx guy delivering a package, etc. What am I doing wrong? I am trying to limit the detect video clips to eliminate clips of cars, but nothing seems to work. Despite none of the detection squares colored, it is recording every motion that occurs.

Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
You setting this in side of Smart Home app? Or you have NVR/DVR or some other type of recording device it is connected to as well?

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
Inside the Smart Home app. I do have an Amcrest 4108 NVR with three 941 cameras connected. I learned the hard way to never change settings on the AD110 anywhere but the Smart Home app.

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
Aww Ok... Hummm interesting... I have my 4108 connected to my AD110 just don't make changes and I record there full time... While I do have motion set I am not sure why I don't get Motion alerts on there anymore lol... I do have mine set 1 bar and was getting loads of motion alerts but as of last couple of weeks only button press alerts and that is fine... I have other things in full sight of the front door on Motion PIR and I can use the 4108 footage for all my door needs...
Maybe no bar set and enabled is like all checked I am not sure that is strange that you have things going off with no grid marked out...
Edit I did only have 1 but I see changed to 3 still get little alerts if any

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
Revo: Are you saying that you use the 4108 to record the Doorbell Camera video? And you use the 4108 motion detect? What camera is the photo you posted from? I am using Amcrest's Surveilance Pro Windows software to view my 941 cameras. And I use the 4108 motion detect on those cameras. I tried motion detect on one of the 941s, recording to a micro sd card, but but viewing stuff on the micro sd card leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
I use the 4108 to record 5 Amcrest 841 with one being a POE the rest normal 841, then also record a 751 and the AD110 Doorbell... Until just a few days ago I was only recording full time on all ch... Now I am only recording 751 and AD110 full time because of my setup... At first not knowing how it is different from my CVI I thought even after changing over to Motion only Recording on my 841's It looks like they are always recording but now after looking at playback they are only recording motion and 751 and ad110 are full time...
Only Motion Detect I use for AD110 is on the Smart Home app.. ON the 4108 it was giving me way to many alerts and most for just rain or snow or cars at night turning the corner and the lights would hit the camera... So I have Motion from 8 am to 8 pm daily on Lev 3 with Email alerts... 4108 is always recording ch6 and ch5. Then all other Channels are as of Monday only Recording Motion.. Then I have my other system that also can see my porch and has a View for ID reasons and also has PTZ with Motion Tracking and Driveway Plate detection as it is a 32x PTZ.
Main issue with Doorbell footage is you can't save without card removal and I find that not workable for me so I have it recording full time on the NVR...

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
Interesting! Thanks for your insight. What software are you using to view the 4108 recording? And do I understand that you did use the 4108 motion detect on the AD110? And now you use the 4108 for general recording of the AD110?

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
The 4108 I only use the Normal OVER HDMI for playback and viewing... Every once and a while I use phone Amcrest Pro App to look at cameras Live and Playback when away from home and also Smart Home app but that is really for the Ash21 because the use on the 4108 I find worthless (For Ash21) and have since Removed the camera from the NVR... That is only one I use ASP for when I feel the need but normally I don't unless there is something I want to play back as I do have it setup as NVR for full time recording of ash21...
About using the 4108 as Motion for AD110 I made the mistake of enabling it when I first set up the camera however I notice that the system made changes inside the Smart Home app and after that I set Ch6 as no motion setup and have it setup in Schedule to Record Ch6 FULL time... Sadly this makes it so if I wanted to use the Smart Search in playback for Ch6 it comes up with no motion... And again that is fine because of all the other cameras that I have already recording the same footage...
For me the main reason behind AD110 on my NVR 4108 is to have a full account footage from the Doorbell camera... I have a HDMI cable running from my NVR to Port 2 on my 3 HDMI port TV... One for a computer that has ASP for ASH21 and the other HDMI for another computer that I have setup for FTP for all my NVR/DVR's to send footage over FTP for backup... Also have a couple cameras setup to send FTP on motion for a few months maybe 6 I had full time camera recording going to FTP.. I have since changed that setup to Motion now...

Re: Doorbell Camera Motion Detect
OK, thanks for the insight. I think I will put the AD110 on my 4108, and try it on general record and motion detect. I use a Windows laptop to view all recordings on the 4108 with Surveillance Pro. I also use an Android with Smart Home to access and edit settings on the AD110 and view the event recordings. Maybe I will be able to view every thing from my laptop and just use Smart Home for alerts and editing settings on the AD110.

That sounds like you probably have a defective camera that should be returned. Even if you carefully followed all the following instructions, it would probably still fail.hawkeye62 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 15, 2020 12:59 pm I am having a motion detect problem.
